Changamka1Wednesday 24 November 2021, Nairobi: Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency has partnered with Kenya Association of Manufacturers to host this year’s Kenya Manufacturing Summit and Expo dubbed the Changamka Shopping Festival scheduled to take place from 24th to 28th November 2021 at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi as well as from 1st to 5th December 2021 at Mama Ngina Park in Mombasa.
The Festival will be the biggest shopping festival in Kenya and is expected to create numerous opportunities for industries, stakeholders and the public to celebrate, discuss and come up with ways of transforming Kenya through manufacturing and industrialization. Over 120 Kenyan companies from various sectors are participating.
The Agency seeks to use this opportunity to advance the Buy Kenya, Build Kenya initiative that will not only expand markets for local products but will also lead to increased job opportunities that will economically transform the lives many Kenyans in the small and medium sized enterprises sector.
“COVID 19 pandemic has taught us that self sufficiency is the best thing that can ever happen to a country. We therefore encourage our industries to adhere to the best standards in production and all Kenyans to buy and consume local products to boost key sectors,” said Dr. Wilfred Marube, Chief Executive Officer, Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency.
“Growing domestic demand for local goods is great for import substitution as well as increasing affinity of our products for the diaspora market, which in turn will stimulate exports of finished products,” He added.

The Agency will thus leverage on the event to recruit more stakeholders into adopting the Made in Kenya brand Mark that is aimed at identifying and authenticating all Kenyan goods and services and giving them a competitive advantage on both local and global markets.
“This Mark strengthen Kenya’s position as a Made-in country in a bid to position the country as an industrial hub for Africa. More than 60 local companies have adopted this Mark,” Dr. Marube added.
