The DRC Market is a major market for Kenya given that trade relations have grown progressively with the value of Exports rising from Kshs.4.29 Billion in 2001 to Kshs.12.79 Billion in 2010 and to Kshs.17.5 Billion in 2011(Kenya Economic survey,2012). This translated to over 300% increase over this period. In 2011, Kenyan imports from DRC were Kshs. 2.5 Billion translating into a trade surplus of Ksh.15 billion. The DRC was Kenya’s ninth largest global export market in 2010. DRC is in a good position in the African Market as Kenya’s Export Destination. This forms the backbone of the relations with DR Congo.
