The High Commission of India, Nairobi is pleased to inform you that the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India and its public sector undertaking (PSU) - Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) together with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) are organizing the second edition of Global Bio – India 2021. The event to be hosted on a virtual platform is scheduled for 01-03 March, 2021. Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences of India and Dr Renu Swarup, Secretary, Department of Bio-Technology, India have confirmed their participation. The organizers expect to have several other Ministers and Secretaries grace the event.
2.Biotechnology sector in India, with a sector of net value estimated at USD 51 billion in 2018-19 is among the top 12 destinations for biotechnology in the world. Recognizing the importance of the sector, Global Bio-India 2021 is expected to draw a large number of delegates from across the globe. They will be deliberating on the opportunities and key challenges in the areas of Bio-pharma, Bio-agri, Bio-industrial, Bio-energy, Bio-services and MedTech sectors. Salient components of the event include Bio-partnering, policy dialogues, CEO Roundtable, Global Regulators Meet, Investors Roundtable and Country/ Ministries/ Departments/ States/ Startups Pavilions.
